Privacy Policy

Mary Knows helps people find activities happening near them. This policy explains, in plain language, what information the service collects and how it is used.
What Mary Knows collects
- Your email address, if you choose to sign in so Mary can remember you.
- The town, city, or ZIP code you enter, or your approximate location if you ask Mary to use it.
- Interests and preferences you select, and places or sources you tell Mary you like.
- Activities you save, and your “More like this” or “Not for me” taps.
- Basic usage information — searches run, activity pages opened, and technical details needed to keep the site working.
- Messages you send through the help and feedback form, including any email address you add to it.
- Your subscription and account status if you sign up for Mary Knows Plus.
Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe. Card details are entered with Stripe and are processed by Stripe, not stored by Mary Knows. Mary Knows receives billing and subscription status and related identifiers so your plan works.
How the information is used
- To run your searches and show activities near you.
- To order and personalize what Mary shows you.
- To remember your preferences between visits when you are signed in.
- To send the weekly Mary’s Picks email when you turn it on.
- To operate subscriptions and answer support requests.
- To watch reliability, cost, and misuse, and to improve the service.
Companies that help run the service
Mary Knows relies on a small number of service providers: hosting, database and sign-in services; email delivery; payment processing (Stripe); search, AI, and web-data providers used to locate public activity listings; and analytics and operations tooling used inside the app. These providers receive only the information reasonably needed to do that work.
Mary Knows does not sell your personal information.
Links to other websites
Activity listings link to the organizer’s or source’s own website. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which Mary Knows does not control.
How long information is kept
Information is kept as long as needed to run your account and the service, and for normal business and legal needs. You can ask to see, correct, or delete your information using the help link at the bottom of any page.
Your choices
- Change your interests, usual area, and saved activities at any time in your preferences.
- Turn off the weekly Mary’s Picks email from the link in the email itself, or in your preferences.
- Sign out, or sign out and forget this device.
- Ask for access, correction, or deletion through “Need help or found something wrong?” at the bottom of any page.
Do Not Track
Mary Knows does not respond to browser Do Not Track signals, because there is no common standard for them. Mary Knows does not use advertising trackers and does not add a third-party advertising network to the site.
Children
Mary Knows is not directed to children under 13.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. The effective date above will change when it does.
